The Bus Ride of Death

I’m not usually one to get car sick. I love speed, adventure, and the feeling of an adrenaline rush, but one thing I can’t stand is the bus ride to and from school every single day. In the beginning it was kind of exciting, but now all I want to do is teleport to where I have to go. I don’t know why (I suspect it’s the combination of speed, blind corners, steep cliffs, and total disregard for passenger comfort), but I’ve been getting sick nearly every single day since I arrived. I haven’t thrown up yet, but I’ve come close on several occasions. The nausea usually dissipates by lunch time, but my mornings are hell. When I come home at the end of the day, I usually have to sit down and relax for at least thirty minutes before I can eat, drink, or even think.

I hope I get used to the trip soon…

  1. So I guess Dad's driving isn't that bad after all... Maybe even mon oncle Patrice's driving will be a breath of fresh air for you!!!

  2. LOL! Funny Odette.

Ken, is the school really far from your residence? Can you speak to someone whom has authority and let them know how you feel about it? Maybe many others have the car sick as well and if the driver slows down it might solve the problem for many.

  3. Hi Lisa! Big kiss to Pat for me...as she runs away with her tail between her legs....He doesn't drive any worse than other Montrealers!

  4. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about their driving... It's like complaining to the STM (in Montreal) that their drivers are too slow and hoping the administration will force the drivers to speed up. It's just the way they are...

Both of my schools are roughly 30 minutes away, so for now I can just hope that I'll simply get over the motion sickness...
