The Bunam Goat

I was walking to Bunam Middle School from the bus terminal, when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I saw a large black figure rustling behind a bush. My Canadian instincts took over (where’s the mother bear?!?) and I froze in my tracks. My heart started pounding, and I stared for at least a solid minute before deciding to walk up a bit further to see what it was. When I was about twenty feet away, its head quickly jutted out of the top of the bush, and I found myself staring straight into the eyes of… a goat. He looked at me, snorted, and resumed his delicious meal of weeds on the side of the highway…

I didn’t need my morning coffee today…

  1. Amazing! I guess that made your morning. Is that the first time that you see a goat in S. Korea? Are they more abundant than here?

  2. I don't think they're more abundant, they're just in really random places (beside stores, on the sides of the highways etc..).
Oh, and now there are 3 of them on my way to school! This morning, I sneezed while I was walking by them, and they all jumped and made the weirdest burping noises in unison. I literally scared the gas right outta them! It was the strangest thing I ever heard, but it made my day :)

  3. :) good thing you didn't come face to face with a black cow. That surely would have had you running all the way home. I can see however how you mistaken a goat with a black bear. They do look alot alike :)
